Today, the company offers innovative technological solutions which allow customers to respond faster to the market\u2019s on-going changes: additive manufacturing, rapid prototyping as well as technologies dedicated to the production of transmissions, turbines and combustors. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The headquarters is located in\nRivalta di Torino, which is also the largest production plant, while strategic\nfacilities are located also in Brindisi and Pomigliano d\u2019Arco (Naples), for a\ntotal amount of 4,200 employees in Italy. Abroad, it has a production plant in\nPoland. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Through ongoing investments in\nresearch and development, and thanks to a consolidated network of contacts and\nrelations with major international universities and research centres, Avio Aero\nhas attained an internationally recognized level of excellence in technology\nand manufacturing: an achievement borne out by its partnerships with the\nleading global actors in the aeronautical sector. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Avio Aero will participate by:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>(a) contributing to requirements\ndefinition for the newly designed HPC\/BD\/Cloud infrastructure, ensuring its\ncorrect application to the proposed aeronautics use cases related to aero\nengines\u2019 turbomachinery and rotating parts simulation;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>(b) helping to integrate SW and HW\nequipment in order to achieve the best performance <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>(c) hence validating the\ndevelopments and improvements carried out in the present research project for\nthe newly designed HPC\/BD\/Cloud infrastructure. Proper KPIs will fix the\nchallenges.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In WP 5 Avio Aero, in addition to\nthe official Lexis partners, is collaborating with the University of Florence,\nTurbomachinery Group led by Prof. Andrea Arnone, that is in charge of\ndeveloping fast unsteady CFD TRAF code for turbomachinery simulation working on\nboth CPU and GPU hardware environment. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Avio Aero is a GE Aviation business which operates in the design, manufacture and maintenance of civil and military aeronautics components and systems.
