{"id":2121,"date":"2020-11-12T11:51:42","date_gmt":"2020-11-12T11:51:42","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/lexis-project.eu\/web\/?page_id=2121"},"modified":"2021-10-26T17:18:41","modified_gmt":"2021-10-26T17:18:41","slug":"where-to-get-help-and-support","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/lexis-project.eu\/web\/open-call\/where-to-get-help-and-support\/","title":{"rendered":"Help and Support"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h2>DEDICATED PROJECT MANAGER<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>For each Application Experiment selected for the Open\nCall, the LEXIS Consortium will appoint a dedicated Project Manager who will be\nthe coordinator and the main point of access for each Applicant.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This will ensure a smooth and efficient monitoring\nof each Applicant\u2019s project for better efficiency.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In addition, the Project Manager will have to manage the reporting to the LEXIS Consortium and to manage the collection of qualitative and quantitative data needed for the LEXIS quality monitoring and as such will help the Consortium to identify the potential issues and their solutions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3>RESOURCES<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Both at IT4I and at LRZ, large-scale HPC\ninfrastructures in the Petaflop range (with HEAppE front-end) and Cloud\ninfrastructures (IaaS OpenStack for running VMs) with together more than 3,000\nCPU cores are accessible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On the storage side, we provide &gt;200TB of storage altogether without large bureaucratic barriers. Besides this, our Burst-Buffer systems can be used as a very quick intermediate data store in the multi-TB range, based on SSDs and NVRAM.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3>TRAININGS<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Training sessions will be organized for Applicants:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Usage of the platform and its web portal access (for every Applicant),<\/li><li>Project specific trainings (custom made) if relevant for the implementation of the Applicant Project.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3>TECHNICAL SUPPORT<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Even though a great effort is being invested in\ndeveloping user friendly and partially automated LEXIS user experience, we know\nthat the power of the solution and its flexibility comes from its richness and\nfrom very advanced technology. Such a concentrate of technology is very complex\nand may not be understood by the candidate of the Open Call.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This means that every new LEXIS Applicant will need\nto be <em>walked through<\/em> the solution with the support of LEXIS technical\nexperts or <em>professional services<\/em>. Such service may include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Applicant\u00b4s\nworkflow analysis and decomposition in tasks,<\/li><li>Identification\nof the best suited resources for each task,<\/li><li>Identification\nof applicant-specific constraints: immediate availability of resources,\nresource reservation, real-time aspects, data location, national regulations,\netc.,<\/li><li>Environment\nset-up: as a result, one or more applicant\u00b4s workflow variants\/proposals and\nmatching set of resources translated into Alien4Cloud \/TOSCA objects,<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nRuntime\/production\/exploitation\ntechnical support (scheduling issues, stalled or crashed jobs, security\nmanagement, etc.).&nbsp;\n\n\n\n<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>DEDICATED PROJECT MANAGER For each Application Experiment selected for the Open Call, the LEXIS Consortium will appoint a dedicated Project Manager who will be the coordinator and the main point of access for each Applicant.
