Students learned about LEXIS Platform at EVEREST summer school
The LEXIS Platform was presented at EVEREST project summer school „Extreme-scale big data analytics and scientific computing on heterogeneous platforms“ by Jan Martinovič this September. The summer school took place from September 26 to September 30, 2022 in Lake Como School of Advanced Studies in Italy.
This summer school aimed at establishing a living and interdisciplinary environment to bridge the gap between system researchers and application developers. The most common application requirements were discussed, the attendees learn about the potential of modern heterogeneous platforms and how to use them to solve their problems. The school provided a bird’s-eye view on modern big data and scientific applications, highlighting their challenges and computational demands. Then the speakers presented the technology behind modern heterogeneous platforms from both industrial and research perspectives. Finally, advanced design environments from bridging the gap between these two communities were discussed.
Jan Martinovič from IT4Innovations introduced the HPC infrastructure of the Czech national supercomputing centre, the approach for HPC as a service which provides the HPC users easy access to HPC infrastructure through HEAppE and mentioned our LEXIS Platform as an example of this approach.
